Job Title – Battery Mechanical Engineer
Their Purpose – A cutting?edge technology business developing next?generation superfast?charging battery materials and systems for global applications.
Location & flexibility – Based in Cambridgeshire - 4 days onsite, 1 day work from home.
Salary & Benefits – £50k - £65k + benefits including private medical insurance, enhanced holiday & pension.
About the Job –
• Lead mechanical design and simulation of HV and LV battery systems using multiple cell formats.
• Deliver CAD design (SolidWorks), simulation, FMEA, and define requirements and test cases.
• Support hands?on prototyping, assembly, and collaboration with domestic and international partners.
• Drive verification, validation, and certification strategies for mechanical systems.
• Represent mechanical engineering within the battery systems team, contributing to high?quality and safe product development.
About you –
• Engineering degree (or equivalent) with 3–5 years’ mechanical design experience
• Skilled in SolidWorks, mechanical integration, and battery pack design with strong safety understanding.
• Experience in fast?paced start?up or scale?up environments beneficial.
• Strong systems?thinking, problem?solving, FMEA capability, and hands?on prototyping experience.
• Self?driven, communicative, curious, and committed to technical excellence.
