About the Job:
As a Solar Performance Analyst, you will play a critical role in monitoring, analysing, and reporting on the performance of solar PV assets. Your primary focus will be on asset performance analytics, KPI calculation, and performance reporting to support asset management, operational decision-making, and external stakeholder requirements.
You will be responsible for daily monitoring of plant health, ensuring data quality, analysing energy and irradiance data, and producing clear, insightful reports using Excel and other analytical and visualisation tools.
  • Daily monitoring of solar plant health via SCADA systems, reviewing alarms and identifying technical issues or underperformance
  • Calculation and reporting of key performance indicators (KPIs) including Availability, Performance Ratio (PR), and event-related metrics
  • Data analysis to identify root causes of underperformance and assess performance impact
  • Collaboration with Asset Managers and the Performance & Monitoring team to track, manage, and resolve known issues
  • Preparation of regular internal and external performance reports, including commentary on underperformance, technical faults, and maintenance activity
  • Contribution to business intelligence reporting and data visualisation for asset owners and financial lenders
  • Support continuous improvement initiatives by developing tools to streamline analysis and automate reporting (e.g. scripts, dashboards, automated reports)
  • Undertake additional tasks as required to support the wider performance and asset management function

About you:
 
  • Strong analytical mindset with high attention to detail as well as well organised with effective time management skills
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office, with advanced Excel capability
  • Confident working with large datasets and performance metrics
  • Strong written communication skills, with the ability to explain technical findings clearly
  • Competent in presentation, reporting, and data visualisation
  • Able to work collaboratively within a team and independently when required
  • Self-motivated and proactive in identifying improvements
Desirable Knowledge & Experience
  • Understanding of electricity generation fundamentals
  • Knowledge of photovoltaic (PV) plant components and operation
  • Familiarity with solar performance indicators such as PR and availability
  • Awareness of SCADA systems and data flows
  • Previous experience in renewable energy, solar, or asset performance analysis (beneficial but not essential)
  • Undergraduate degree or higher desirable, but not essential
