Job Title: Solar Installer / Site Supervisor
Job Type: Full time, Permanent
Salary: From £30,000 per annum
Location: In person – sites across the South West and UK
Job Purpose
To support the Operations Manager with site level management of renewable energy installations. The role involves scheduling work, supervising installation teams and overseeing the planning, installation and commissioning of on site renewable energy (microgeneration) systems, ensuring projects are delivered safely, on time and to the required quality standards.
Key Responsibilities
Site Supervision & Project Delivery
- Supervise site teams (single or multiple, depending on project scale) installing renewable energy systems on commercial properties
- Oversee the installation, integration and commissioning of on site renewable energy systems
- Manage day to day site operations to ensure projects remain on schedule and within scope
- Maintain control of project performance, contracts and budgets
Planning & Logistics
- Materials and logistics planning to ensure smooth project delivery
- Labour planning to ensure appropriate resources are available at all stages
- Ensure all personnel, tools, access equipment, safety equipment, products and materials are on site and available when required
Quality & Customer Satisfaction
- Ensure all work is completed in line with company quality standards and agreed scope
- Ensure full compliance with current health and safety regulations
- Monitor site practices closely to ensure high standards and customer satisfaction
- Ensure all teams understand, complete and utilise on?site documentation correctly
- Provide accurate and timely reports and paperwork
Health & Safety
- Undertake site specific risk assessments and ensure safe systems of work are implemented
- Identify and report any health and safety risks to management
- Stop work if necessary until conditions are confirmed safe to proceed
Preparation
- Ensure all job paperwork and documentation is available, reviewed and fully understood prior to attending site
Installation & Commissioning Oversight
Ensure all site teams:
- Complete all required pre installation checks
- Liaise effectively with clients, other trades and third parties as instructed
- Identify and report changes to scope as early as possible
- Record agreed scope changes when required
- Install equipment in line with current regulations and quality standards
- Complete all post installation checks and commissioning activities
Experience & Qualifications
Essential
- Minimum 1 year experience in site supervision
- Minimum 1 year experience in solar PV installation
- Full UK driving licence
- Willingness and ability to work away from home as required
Desirable
- Experience supervising renewable energy installations in commercial environments
- Strong organisational and communication skills
- Good understanding of site documentation, health and safety procedures and installation standards
