Job Title – Project Engineer

Location &, flexibility – Field and office-based – Midlands or South UK, with travel to client sites as required

About the Job:
As the business continues to grow, they are seeking an experienced Project Engineer to take renewable energy projects from concept to completion. You’ll be responsible for developing and engineering efficient solar solutions - from feasibility through to construction - ensuring the best technical, financial, and environmental outcomes for clients.
• Take projects from survey through to mobilisation, delivering high-quality engineered solutions.
• Design solar PV systems using design software to achieve optimal performance and efficiency.
• Produce engineering drawings for feasibility, preliminary, construction, and as-built stages.
• Work with the supply chain to select appropriate and available equipment and materials.
• Undertake detailed site surveys and produce comprehensive reports.
• Analyse energy generation and consumption data to build compelling business cases.
• Coordinate external partners on grid applications, planning permissions, and commissioning documentation.
About you:
• Minimum 3 years’ Commercial & Industrial Solar Design experience
• Proficient in solar design software such as SolarEdge Designer, PVSOL, AutoCAD, or Trimble
• Strong Electrical design knowledge (schematics, cable calculations, etc.)
• Understanding of Mechanical design (mounting systems, layout planning, etc.)
• Proficient in Microsoft Office
• Valid UK driving licence and willingness to travel as required
