Job Title – Head of Research & Innovation
Their Purpose – They're a world-leading battery technology developer, and have developed advanced materials enabling the next-generation superfast charging batteries.
Location &, flexibility – Cambridgeshire - hybrid - 4 times a week in office

About the Job:
You will be responsible for their battery innovation, materials research & development, characterisation, and IP functions, while managing a small, high-performing team of researchers.You will work closely with the CTO and peers to shape the research direction and technical vision for the business.
You will drive high-quality R&D on their battery technology, and lead patent development alongside our patent attorneys.
About you:
- 6+ years’ professional experience in R&D roles, ideally in the batteries, electrochemistry, or advanced materials sectors.- 3+ years’ experience of managing small scientific teams
- Strong understanding of patenting, with experience in contributing and working with external patent attorneys to successful patent grant.
- Experience working in a start-up/scale-up business would be beneficial.
