Location &, flexibility – Glasgow | Hybrid after probationary period

About the Job:


 You will play a crucial role within their engineering team, contributing to the design and development of renewable energy projects across Scotland. This position offers an exciting opportunity to work on cutting-edge sustainable energy solutions while making a meaningful impact on our environment.

  • Collaborate with the team to develop detailed designs for solar PV systems and battery storage solutions, ensuring compliance with industry standards and regulations.
  • Conduct site assessments and surveys to evaluate project feasibility and identify optimal installation locations for solar panels and battery storage units.
  • Create electrical schematics, layout drawings, and equipment specifications using CAD software, considering system capacity, electrical load, and interconnection requirements.
  • Perform shading analysis and energy yield assessments to optimise the performance and efficiency of solar PV systems, utilising software tools and simulation models.
  • Assist in the preparation of project proposals, technical documentation, and permit applications for regulatory approval and customer review.
  • Provide technical support during the construction phase, coordinating with contractors, suppliers, and installation teams to ensure project specifications are met
 
About you:
  • Proven experience working as a Design Technician or similar role in the renewable energy sector, with a focus on solar PV and battery technologies.
  • Proficiency in computer-aided design (CAD) software for creating electrical schematics, layout drawings, and equipment specifications.
  • Strong understanding of electrical systems, including AC/DC circuits, power distribution, and electrical codes and standards (e.g., NEC, IEC).
  • Familiarity with solar PV system design principles, including PV module selection, array configuration, and inverter sizing.
  • Knowledge of battery technologies, energy storage systems, and battery management systems (BMS).
