About the Job:
Reporting to the Chief Operating Officer, the Technical Manager will be responsible for the design, engineering and technical delivery of utility-scale solar PV projects from feasibility through to construction, commissioning and operational handover. This role requires a hands-on mindset combined with strategic oversight and cross-functional collaboration.
- Responsible for shaping and delivering the companies technical roadmap for renewable infrastructure, ensuring alignment with wider business priorities.
- You’ll lead technical due diligence during site assessments, layout optimisation and feasibility work including overseeing feasibility studies, yield assessments and site evaluations.
- You’ll guide the production and review of system design, grid compliance inputs and supporting documentation, ensuring designs meet relevant standards and regulatory frameworks across multiple regions.
- Oversee contractor engineering deliverables and interface with design teams throughout the construction phase whilst reviewing and validating key technical drawings, connection documentation and milestone reports.
- Facilitate seamless technical handover to asset operations, ensuring all required information, testing data and system commissioning steps are delivered.
- Maintain strong working relationships with external partners, including network operators, delivery contractors, consultants and regulatory contacts.
About you:
- A background in engineering (electrical, energy systems or similar) with a degree qualification desirable.
- Demonstrate experience working on multi-megawatt energy infrastructure projects in a technical leadership role.
- Familiarity with UK grid codes, DNO requirements, and technical compliance procedures (G99/G100)
- Competence with design and monitoring platforms (PVsyst, AutoCAD, SCADA systems)
