Job Title – Solar Site Manager    

Their Purpose – A well-established and fast-growing developer, owner, and operator of utility-scale solar PV projects in the UK. Focused on delivering clean, sustainable energy, they have a strong pipeline of grid-scale developments and are rapidly expanding.

Location &, flexibility – Site based with Nationwide travel

About the Job:
Reporting to the Head of EPC you will be responsible for managing and supporting large-scale renewable energy construction projects (10 MW – 70 MW) during the construction phase.

This includes overseeing subcontractors and suppliers to ensure safe, efficient delivery in line with project schedules. Working closely with the Project Manager, who will lead the overall project, you will provide day-to-day site management and guidance.
  • Lead on -site Health & Safety management, including:
    • Reviewing and approving RAMS (Risk Assessment and Method Statements)
    • Ensuring safe systems of work are implemented and followed
    • Issuing permits for high-risk tasks
    • Managing overall site welfare
  • Responsible for manging and resolving on-site issues to ensure safe, efficient project delivery.
  • Ensure welfare facilities are constantly operational and in line with CDM requirements.
  • Support the project manager with quality assurance and control of the onsite build process.
  • Check deliveries, liaise with subcontractors and suppliers, and manage their onsite performance.
About you:
  • Proven experience within the solar industry, with strong organisational and project management skills.
  • Solid understanding of the key commercial aspects of large-scale solar PV projects.
  • Background in a construction environment, ideally on large-scale renewable energy projects.
  • Good working knowledge of CDM regulations and proficiency in MS Office packages.
  • Strong organisational and time management skills, with the ability to build, lead and influence positive Health & Safety behaviours on site.
  • SMSTS certification
  • Willingness to travel and work away from home as required.
  • Full UK driving licence.
