Job Title – Lead Electrical Design Engineer   
 
Their Purpose – A growing engineering specialist who is a market leader in power system protection solutions with their own manufactured products they offer a comprehensive range of essential engineering services.  
 
Location &, flexibility – Cumbria, 37.5 per week + Flexi time

About the Job:

You will be responsible for the technical management of customer orders within a project team including coo-ordinating engineering resources to ensure completion of the most economical technical solution in a timely manner.
 
  • You will be responsible for the technical management of projects in line with client expectations, internal procedures and programmed timescales including participating in the tender to project team handover meetings.
  • You’ll have overall responsibility for all technical matters for each project within the project team.
  • You’ll be responsible for the communication of technical information to all internal and external stakeholders including filtering, submitting and receiving all project team queries and action all formal drawing submissions. 
  • You’ll be responsible for conducting site surveys (where appropriate) at customer sites and respecting all relevant health and safety rules.
  • Help in maintaining or improving the project budget by use of standard parts and designs to minimise material and labour costs.
  • Lead the design review team meeting on all new projects to identify similar previous projects to work from, identify missing information for the customer and collect technical queries from the team.

About you:
 
  • Experience in technical management of projects and ability to produce electrical drawings.
  • HNC Electrical/Electronic Engineering
  • Experience working in a manufacturing/utilities environment is advantageous
  • Factory acceptance testing experience is advantageous
  • Full UK Driving Licence.
  • Eligible for right to work in the UK for minimum of 2 years.
