Job Title – Commercial Paralegal - Canada

The company offers its proprietary LFP battery solution, comprehensive EPC services, and innovative solutions aimed at improving grid operations and supporting the integration of clean energy for a sustainable future.

Location & Flexibility – Hybrid – Kitchener/Calgary or Greater Toronto Area

Salary & Benefits – Up to 80k +15% target bonus, 20 days paid leave + 10 days of personal leave, $80 AUD per month for cell phone, Learning and development career opportunities.

About the Job:
As the Commercial Paralegal, you will provide essential support to the operations in the solar sector, focusing on corporate governance, contract management and regulatory compliance. You will collaborate with internal and external stakeholders worldwide to ensure that legal processes align with the company’s organizational goal and legal standards.
 
  • You’ll be responsible for assisting the legal team across Canada, the USA, Chile, London and Australia in managing projects and sales globally.
  • You will establish and maintain corporate entities, including formations, reorganizations, amalgamations, and wind-ups in multiple jurisdictions.
  • You’ll be responsible for organizing and tracking contracts, ensuring compliance with legal standard and following up on regulatory filings as well as collaborating with business teams, in-house counsel, and external advisors globally.
  • Implement policies and procedures for compliance areas such as ABAC, privacy and confidentiality agreements as well as oversee projects for the legal department, ensuring timely and efficient execution.
  • Review, draft and negotiate contracts, including NDAs, vendor agreements and supplier contracts as well as manage transaction closings, ensuring documentation accuracy and regulatory compliance.

About You:
  • Minimum 5 years as a corporate paralegal in a law firm or corporate legal department, with corporate subsidiary governance experience preferred.
  • Paralegal certification is desirable; a bachelor’s degree or equivalent work experience is required and proven ability to maintain strict confidentiality in all aspects of legal work
  • Strong understanding of compliance and regulatory frameworks.
  • Self-motivated with excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to analyse complex legal issues.
