An established UK-based high-voltage engineering services provider is seeking an experienced Contracts Engineer / Senior Authorised Person (SAP) to support the delivery of HV and LV installation, maintenance, and asset replacement projects across private HV networks.
The role will involve working on 11kV–33kV distribution systems, supporting both new installations and refurbishment projects, and engaging directly with clients to deliver safe, compliant, and cost-effective engineering solutions.
Key Responsibilities:

Develop technical proposals and engineering solutions in collaboration with operational leadership

Deliver HV construction and asset replacement projects on private networks

Manage projects to meet specification, programme, and budget requirements

Coordinate site activities, workforce instructions, and subcontractors

Ensure full compliance with Health & Safety, quality, and operational standards

Prepare and manage HV outages in coordination with clients and internal teams

Undertake HV switching, isolation, earthing, and issue safety documentation up to 33kV

Carry out on-site testing and commissioning of HV systems

Lead maintenance activities across customer networks (onshore/offshore as required)

Maintain a strong safety culture and provide technical leadership
Experience & Qualifications:

Senior Authorised Person (SAP) status essential (e.g. DNO or equivalent authorisations)

Minimum 5 years’ experience in an electrical contracting or HV environment

Proven experience working on HV private networks (essential)

Strong knowledge of HV switchgear, protection systems, and maintenance practices
-
HNC in Electrical Engineering (Power Distribution) desirable but not essential

City & Guilds HV Operational Safety qualification

IOSH / NEBOSH desirable

Strong communication, organisational, and problem-solving skills

Ability to work under pressure with a strong focus on safety and commercial awareness
