About the Job –
As the HV Operations supervisor, you will lead the operational delivery of High Voltage works across multiple sites, ensuring the safe, compliant, and efficient operation of HV networks from 33kV and above.
- Lead, coach, and support a team of HV engineers and supervisors
- Oversee HV O&M, switching operations, energisations, construction, and commissioning
- Ensure full compliance with HV Safety Rules, statutory regulations, and company policies
- Review and approve method statements, risk assessments, switching schedules, and reports
- Manage HV documentation, audit trails, testing records, and safety files
- Support the planning and allocation of resources across multiple projects
- Conduct site visits, inspections, and operational reviews across live sites
- Manage subcontractors, ensuring they follow safety and quality requirements
- Lead HV fault investigations, identify root causes, and implement corrective actions
- Provide daily or weekly reporting through company systems (e.g. D365)
- Oversee operational budgets, cost tracking, forecasts, and efficiency improvements
- Support competency assessments, authorisations, mentoring, and training
- Collaborate with senior management, clients, and supply chain partners
- Participate in the out-of-hours rota and respond to urgent operational events
- Ensure all policies, procedures, ethical standards, and ISO systems are followed
About you -
- Proven track record leading HV operations at 33kV+
- Experience managing HV engineers, contractors, and multiple site teams
- Strong understanding of HV networks, switching, safety rules, and operational procedures
- Experience in HV construction, commissioning, O&M, and fault response
- Knowledge of DNO/ICP environments and private network operations
- Excellent organisational, leadership, and communication skills
- Ability to manage fast-changing priorities across multiple sites
- Strong technical understanding and willingness to mentor junior engineers
- Able to maintain strict accuracy in all documentation and audit records
- Detail-oriented, calm under pressure, and confident working independently
- Full UK Driving licence (maximum 3 points)
