Job Title – Tritium Engineer

Their Purpose – An innovative engineering organisation developing advanced technologies within the fusion energy sector, helping to deliver next-generation clean energy solutions through cutting-edge research, design and technology development.

Location & flexibility – Oxfordshire, hybrid working (2 days in, 3 days home)

Salary & Benefits – £55k - £68k, benefits include: 25 days + BH, 4% matched pension, Private medical (Medicash)

About the Job –
• Develop and maintain tritium transport models to evaluate generation, migration, retention, permeation and recovery across fusion-related systems.
• Support the optimisation of tritium extraction, measurement, storage and confinement strategies for experimental and future reactor systems.
• Perform system-level analysis to evaluate tritium inventories, release pathways, recovery efficiencies and operational performance.
• Contribute to safety assessments, engineering substantiation and regulatory activities associated with tritium-bearing systems.
• Work with multidisciplinary engineering teams to support the development of advanced fuel cycle and reactor technology programmes.

About you –
• Master's degree or higher in Nuclear Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Chemical Engineering, Physics or a related discipline.
• Experience in tritium engineering, fusion fuel cycle technologies, hydrogen isotope systems or related nuclear applications.
• Strong understanding of tritium transport phenomena, including diffusion, permeation, retention, extraction and containment principles.
• Experience developing and applying tritium transport models and using engineering analysis tools such as MATLAB, TMAP, FESTIM, COMSOL or equivalent.
• Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to operate effectively within multidisciplinary engineering teams.
