Their Purpose – Our client is a well-established and fast-growing renewable energy operations and maintenance provider, currently operating and managing large-scale solar PV assets across the UK and Europe. The business specialises in the operation, maintenance, revamping and optimisation of utility-scale solar assets, with a strong focus on performance, responsiveness and long-term asset efficiency.

Location &, flexibility – Field Based – East of England, Regional coverage

About the Job –
Due to continued growth, our client is looking to appoint a Field Service Engineer to support the maintenance and operation of utility-scale solar PV sites across the East of England.
This is an excellent opportunity for an electrically qualified engineer with experience across industrial electrical systems, solar PV or HV infrastructure to join a growing renewable energy business with long-term progression opportunities.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Carry out planned preventative maintenance across utility-scale solar PV sites
  • Conduct visual inspections, cleaning and reporting activities
  • Perform maintenance on: Solar modules, Inverters, Cables and connectors, AC/DC distribution boards, Mounting systems, fences and gates, Monitoring and communication systems, Security systems including CCTV and barriers
  • Fault find electrical systems using: Multimeters, Insulation testers, Thermal imaging equipment
  • Carry out reactive and corrective maintenance activities
  • Support and manage subcontractors on site
  • Ensure systems remain operational and available
  • Complete site reporting and documentation accurately
  • Participate in occasional weekend and bank holiday call-outs
About you -
  • Minimum 3–5 years’ experience in electrical installation and maintenance
  • Previous experience within industrial, utility-scale or renewable energy environments
  • Solar PV knowledge or experience preferred
  • Strong understanding of health & safety regulations
  • Competent using electrical testing equipment
  • NVQ Level 3 Electrical Qualification
  • Full UK driving licence
  • Good communication and organisational skills
  • Ability to work independently and manage workload effectively
