Job Title –  Solar Farm Electrician

Location &, flexibility – Field based, South West

Salary & Benefits – Competitive Salary, Overtime paid when required as follows:
Saturday – time and a half
Sunday – Double pay
Bank holidays – Double pay and a day in lieu
The days above are not guaranteed but will be required to work when called upon. Usually if there is any equipment failure affecting generation of the sites.

About the Job:

Reporting to the O&M Manager you will be responsible for performing monthly inspections and checks, assisting the Senior Authorised Person (SAP), and troubleshooting electrical equipment to ensure the optimal performance of solar farm assets. The ideal candidate will have a strong electrical background and experience in solar farm maintenance.
 
  • You will be responsible for conducting monthly inspections and functional checks of electrical systems including solar panels and inverters, DC and AC electrical systems, switchgear, transformers and other site equipment.
  • Identify potential issues and perform corrective actions to prevent equipment failures as well as record inspection findings and report anomalies to the SAP.
  • Diagnose and repair faults in electrical systems and equipment as well as providing hands-on support to resolve issues affecting solar farm performance and ensure timely response to reactivate maintenance tasks to minimize downtime.
  • Adhere to all health and safety policies and conduct work in line with industry regulations, site rules and company standards.

About you:
 
  • Electrically qualified (NVQ Level3, City & Guilds or equivalent)
  • 18th edition wiring regulations.
  • 2391 test and inspection
  • Experience in maintaining, troubleshooting, and repairing electrical systems (preferably solar farms or renewable energy systems)
  • Knowledge of DC and AC systems, inverters and high voltage operations.
  • Valid UK Driving licence and willingness to travel between solar sites when required
