Job Title – Snr. Mechanical and Thermal Engineer

Their Purpose – A pioneering battery technology organisation developing advanced materials and next-generation fast-charging battery systems for applications across e-mobility, electronics, and energy storage.

Location & flexibility – Sawston, Cambridge; on-site with some flexibility and periodic travel required

About the Job –
• Lead mechanical and thermal design of HV and LV battery systems from concept through to production
• Define and deliver thermal management strategies including cooling and safety systems
• Drive simulation activities (FEA/CFD) to validate design performance and integrity
• Collaborate cross-functionally with electrical, cell, and manufacturing teams while supporting prototyping and testing
• Own risk analysis (FMEA) and ensure high standards across quality, safety, and engineering delivery

About you –
• Degree-qualified engineer with experience delivering battery products in a fast-paced environment
• Strong background in battery pack design, including mechanical integration and safety considerations
• Experience with FEA and CFD simulation tools and system engineering principles
• Hands-on approach with prototyping and development, ideally within a start-up or scale-up setting
• Self-driven, practical communicator with strong systems thinking and a commitment to quality and innovation
