Job Title – Scientific / Trials Director (US)
Their Purpose – An award winning cleantech organisation turning hard to recycle organic waste into high impact biochar solutions that support clean energy, carbon reduction, and science driven sustainability.
Location & flexibility – United States. Part time role (0.5–0.66 FTE). Flexibility around remote work with travel for trials, research partners, and field activities as required.

About the Job –
• Lead the design and implementation of field, lab, and pilot trials to validate biochar performance
• Develop rigorous methodologies and generate meaningful, reliable data to inform product development and application pathways.
• Act as an internal subject matter expert across biochar science, soil health, AD enhancement, and environmental engineering
• Build and manage collaborations with universities, research bodies, and scientific institutions across the U.S.
• Support innovation by identifying new product opportunities, emerging applications, and early stage R&D concepts
About you –
• Strong scientific grounding in biochar, agronomy, soil science, biomass, environmental science, chemical engineering, or a related discipline
• Experience designing, running, or analysing scientific trials and producing evidence based insights
• Skilled in data evaluation, scientific communication, and translating research into real world operational or commercial impact
• Confident working with academic partners, research networks, and multiparty collaborations
• Independent, analytical, and motivated by sustainability, carbon removal, and science led innovation
