About the Job:
As a Solar O&M Technician, you will be responsible for the maintenance, fault finding, servicing and repair of solar PV systems, battery energy storage systems (BESS) and associated electrical infrastructure across a varied portfolio of sites.
This is a field-based role covering the Reading area and surrounding regions, with occasional nationwide travel required.
- Carry out planned preventative maintenance (PPM) on solar PV and battery storage systems
- Diagnose and rectify faults on PV systems, inverters, optimisers, batteries and monitoring platforms
- Conduct electrical testing and inspection activities
- Complete reactive maintenance and emergency call-outs when required
- Produce detailed service reports and photographic records
- Liaise professionally with customers, site managers and subcontractors
- Support commissioning activities and remedial works
- Ensure all work is completed safely and in compliance with BS7671, MCS standards and company procedures
About you:
- NVQ Level 3 qualified Electrician (or equivalent)
- 18th Edition Wiring Regulations qualification
- ECS Gold Card
- Strong electrical fault-finding and diagnostic skills - 2391 testing and inspection (Desirable)
- BPEC or LCL Awards qualifications in Solar PV, Battery Storage and EV Charging
- Full UK Driving Licence
- Comfortable working at height and outdoors
- Competent using IT systems and CRM platforms
