Job Title – Junior Mechanical Engineer

Their Purpose – An innovative engineering organisation developing advanced technologies within the fusion energy sector, helping to deliver next-generation clean energy solutions through cutting-edge research, design and technology development.

Location & flexibility – Oxfordshire, UK with hybrid working (2 days in, 3 days at home)

Salary & Benefits – £30k - £40k, benefits include: 25 days + BH, 4% matched pension, Private medical (Medicash)

About the Job –
• Support the design and development of mechanical systems and components for advanced energy technology programmes.
• Contribute to the design of gas handling systems and specialist process equipment.
• Produce engineering calculations, technical reports and design substantiation documentation.
• Develop and maintain 3D CAD models and engineering drawings using industry-standard software.
• Support testing, commissioning, verification and safety assessment activities across multidisciplinary projects.

About you –
• Experience designing and analysing mechanical systems within nuclear, fusion, energy or other highly regulated industries.
• Proficient in CAD modelling and producing engineering drawings and technical documentation.
• Strong understanding of thermo-mechanical, thermo-hydraulic and fluid flow analysis.
• Experience using engineering simulation tools such as COMSOL, ANSYS, Abaqus or equivalent software.
• Strong analytical, problem-solving and teamworking skills with the ability to collaborate across multidisciplinary engineering teams.
