About the Job –
An exciting opportunity for an experienced Insurance & Risk Manager to take ownership of the company's global insurance programme.
Reporting directly to the CFO, you will lead all insurance-related activities across development, construction and operational assets, managing policy placement, renewals, claims and insurer relationships. You will also support wider enterprise risk management activities and play a key role in ensuring the business remains appropriately protected as it continues to scale internationally.
This is a standalone position offering significant autonomy and the opportunity to shape insurance strategy across a growing renewable energy platform.
- Own and manage the company's global insurance programme across development, construction and operational renewable energy assets.
- Lead insurance renewals, placements, endorsements and insurer/broker relationships.
- Manage cyber insurance, premium forecasting, budgeting and cost allocation.
- Lead claims management from notification through to settlement and recovery.
- Review and manage insurance requirements across EPC, O&M, construction and project finance agreements.
- Ensure appropriate coverage is maintained throughout the full asset lifecycle, from development to operations.
- Maintain insurance records, asset schedules, Statements of Values (SOVs) and exposure data.
- Produce insurance, claims and risk reports for senior leadership.
- Develop insurance processes, documentation and best practice guidance.
- Support enterprise risk management, business continuity planning and wider risk mitigation activities.
- Collaborate with Finance, Legal, Projects, Operations, HSE and IT teams to reduce risk and improve insurability across the business.
- 4+ years' experience within insurance, broking, underwriting or risk management, ideally within renewable energy, infrastructure, construction or industrial sectors.
- Strong technical understanding of:
- Construction All Risks (CAR) / Erection All Risks (EAR)
- Delay in Start-Up (DSU) / Advance Loss of Profit (ALOP)
- Property Damage & Business Interruption (PD/BI)
- Public, Employers' and Professional Liability
- Cyber Insurance
- Machinery Breakdown and Environmental Liability policies
- Experience managing insurance programmes across multiple countries, including global master and local admitted policies.
- Proven experience handling claims from notification through to settlement and recovery.
- Strong understanding of insurance requirements within EPC, BOP, O&M, TSA and project finance agreements.
- Experience supporting renewable energy projects through development, construction, commissioning and operational phases.
- Ability to manage insurance submissions, Statements of Values (SOVs), exposure data, valuations and policy documentation.
- Strong commercial, analytical and stakeholder management skills.
- Advanced Excel skills with the ability to manage and analyse insurance data.
- Experience producing management reports, dashboards and premium forecasts.
