About the Job:
As HSEQ Manager, you will lead and manage health safety, environment and quality activities across both construction and operational renewable energy projects.
This is a highly visible, hands-on role requiring regular engagement with site teams, contractors, operational personnel and senior leadership. You will be responsible for driving a positive safety culture, ensuring compliance with legislation and industry standards, and continually improving integrated management systems across the business.
- Lead and continuously improve Health, Safety, Environmental and Quality (HSEQ) policies, procedures and management systems.
- Promote a positive safety culture through regular engagement with employees, contractors and site teams.
- Conduct site audits, inspections and compliance reviews across operational and construction projects.
- Investigate incidents, implement corrective actions and drive continuous improvement initiatives.
- Ensure compliance with HSEQ legislation, CDM Regulations, ISO 9001, ISO 14001 and ISO 45001 standards.
- Support electrical safety frameworks, HV procedures and operational controls.
- Review contractor documentation, including RAMS and Construction Phase Plans, and monitor contractor performance.
- Manage environmental compliance, sustainability initiatives and environmental incident reporting.
- Coordinate internal and external audits, certifications and management reviews.
- Monitor HSEQ performance metrics and provide reporting to senior management.
- Maintain accurate compliance records and ensure governance requirements are met.
- Deliver HSEQ training, competency programmes and practical support to operational and project teams.
- Work closely with construction, O&M and senior leadership teams to manage risk and drive best practice across the business.
- Minimum 5 years' experience in a senior HSEQ role within renewable energy, utilities, construction, infrastructure or a related sector.
- Strong understanding of UK Health & Safety legislation, CDM Regulations and HSEQ best practice.
- Experience managing and maintaining ISO 9001, ISO 14001 and ISO 45001 management systems.
- Practical experience working within construction, renewable energy, utilities or HV electrical environments.
- Ability to manage contractor and subcontractor compliance across multiple sites and projects.
- Strong communication, leadership, stakeholder management and organisational skills.
- Proactive, hands-on and pragmatic approach to HSEQ management.
- Full UK Driving Licence with willingness to travel to operational and construction sites.
