About the Job –
- Design and develop high-vacuum and ultra high-vacuum systems.
- Evaluate system performance and implement improvements.
- Design cryogenic systems operating at liquid helium and liquid hydrogen temperatures.
- Develop cryogenic piping, insulation and thermal?management solutions to maintain target temperatures.
- Integrate cryogenic systems with vacuum environments, including cold traps and cryopumping.
About you –
- Master’s degree in Mechanical Engineering or a PhD in a related discipline.
- 5+ years’ experience in vacuum-system engineering and design (flanges, gaskets, material selection).
- 5+ years’ experience designing cryogenic systems below 50 K.
- Strong knowledge of cryogenic engineering, thermodynamics and heat-transfer modelling.
- Familiarity with vacuum standards and cryogenic safety best practices.
